To contact Pinisi Boat, use the form at the top of this page, WhatsApp 6281139414563 or email bd@juaraholding.com. All three reach the same Editorial Desk. Tell us what you want to do, which vessel or region it concerns and when. The more specific the first message, the more useful the first reply will be.
What can I ask the desk?
The desk handles two kinds of message: questions about the guide, and requests that may lead to a contract. Either way, the site itself is not a contracting party. If a request goes ahead, the company that issues the contract depends on the kind of work.
| You want to | If it goes ahead, the contract is issued by |
|---|---|
| Build, repair, refit or buy a vessel | PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara |
| Sell through a broker, use central agency, market a charter or appoint a commercial representative | PT Komodo Bahari Nusantara |
| Hand over the management of a boat | PT Komodo Vessel Management |
| Ask a question or correct a page | No contract involved; the Editorial Desk replies |
The work location is stated in the offer, and any fee and payment terms are stated in the offer. Since a request can end in a contract with one of those companies, weigh that offer as you would weigh any other. Our guide to commissioning a pinisi suggests what to look for.
What should an enquiry include?
A few lines are enough if they are the right ones. Pick the list that matches your purpose.
To build, or to repair or refit
- The use you have in mind: private, charter or cargo.
- Length, if you have one in mind, and the number of guests or the load.
- For a repair or refit: the vessel's name, year, current location and what needs doing, with any survey you hold.
- Your timing, and the flag you expect to use, if you know it.
To buy a used vessel
- The address of any listing you have seen. For example, listings on YachtWorld's Indonesia page can be pasted straight in.
- What you already know about the rig and hull, since the word "phinisi" alone does not settle either. Our spelling note explains why.
- Your intended use, and your questions about flag or ownership. Those also belong with a licensed Indonesian maritime lawyer.
To charter a boat
- Region, dates, group size and whether you want a whole boat. If a date is fixed, say so.
- Any vessel you have in mind.
- Park fees are separate questions. Check the Komodo tariff page or the Raja Ampat permit page for those.
To sell, market or hand over the management of a boat
- Vessel name, year, length, flag and current location.
- What you want done, and over what period.
To correct a page or ask about a source
- The page address, the sentence concerned and the source you are relying on. UNESCO's own wording, a ministry notice or a dated listing all help.
What happens after I write?
We read the request and reply on the channel you used. Expect questions first if something is missing, because an offer built on guesses helps nobody. For a question about the guide, the reply is usually the end of it. For a project, the next step is a written offer, and nothing binds you until you have read and accepted it. The desk does not publish a fixed reply time, so state your time zone and any deadline up front.
Please do not send passport scans, card numbers or similar private documents in a first message. If an offer later requires documents, it will say what they are.
What can't the desk do for me?
Some things only an official body or a professional can do, and going to them directly will save you time:
- Legal advice. Flag, ownership and company questions need a licensed Indonesian maritime lawyer.
- Park tickets and permits. Komodo fees are set out by the park office. Raja Ampat permits are sold at the Sorong harbour booth, the Waisai office and online.
- UNESCO matters. The heritage record belongs to UNESCO, and this site has no role in it.
- Vessel registers. Registration is a matter for the transport ministry and its offices.
For background before you write, the FAQ answers the common questions and the about page explains who runs the desk.
What are the short answers before you get in touch?
Does the desk reply on WhatsApp and by email?
Yes. Use whichever suits you, and write once on one channel so that your request stays in a single thread. If you need a reply by a set date, say so in your first line and include your time zone.
Can I ask a question without planning to buy or charter?
Yes. Questions about the boat, its history or a source on this site are welcome, and corrections are especially useful. You do not need a project in mind to write to the desk, and you will not be asked for one.
Can you tell me a price before I give any details?
Not as an offer. Published examples are on our cost and hire pages, with their sources. A price for your own project depends on the vessel, the scope and the dates, so it can only appear in an offer written for that request.
Should I send payment or card details in my first message?
No. Send none of it at this stage. Any fee and payment terms are stated in the offer, and you should read the offer, including the name of the contracting company, before any money moves.
Which sources support this page?
Checked in October 2026.
- YachtWorld: boats for sale in Indonesia
- Balai TN Komodo: official tariff page
- Stay Raja Ampat: marine park entry permit
- UNESCO: Pinisi, art of boatbuilding in South Sulawesi
